A Winter Hike!

If you’re in an area that’s anything like mine, you know it’s cold outside. And not just cold. No, it’s freezing. Hide inside, never leave, curled under three blankets kind of freezing. And while I’m normally the kind of person to be shouting about how much I love winter and cold and snow, these last couple of weeks were testing even me. What do you mean my hair would freeze if I walked outside?! That’s insane!!

But this last weekend it warmed up. And you best bet my friends and I took advantage of it. We finally got outside! We found this little park a couple minutes away and decided to give it a try. And I’m so glad we did. Because it was idyllic. It was such a beautiful hike. And yes, there were several inches of snow on the ground, and it was mildly cold, but still. So worth it. And now I’m craving another hike! Maybe next weekend… Or the one after it! What can I say, I’m a busy college student!

Ooo, and after the hike? We went to Olive Garden! Oh how I love breadsticks and soup and pasta. That’s probably the worst bit about college: the food. It’s not bad all the time, but it’s bad enough of the time that getting off campus and getting to eat something that’s actually warm and flavorful is always incredible. And I love Olive Garden. Perfect after-hike snack (or feast, let’s be real here). But then we got home and I pretty much slept immediately. Yes, it was only like 7:30pm, but I was sleepy! It’s amazing how much doing something other than sitting in bed will tire you out… But now I’m fully recuperated and planning my next set of adventures! Stay tuned!
